When I became a Reiki master, my body and spirit (if you will) went through quite a bit. I had a detox experience for about a week. Within myself, however, is where the bigger things happened. I think that part of me began the process of thinking more of others than of myself. I think it is easy for us to get caught in our own "stuff". I think my challenge in recent years has been to remember that the "stuff" has a lesson for me, and once I learn that lesson, there is often a way I can then take what I've learned to somehow be a better source of help for others.
I have only taken on 2 students so far, and I think that part of that has to do with just being busy focusing on other things going on in my life. Raising 3 kids has taken a great deal of my energy. Trying to create memories for them while dealing with the daily needs of a home and family definately have consumed much of my energy.
It seems that I push my Reiki to the back burner most of the time unless there is a specific need for it. I think part of my "new year's resolution" list should include a more frequent use of Reiki. I need to remember that when I originally walked down the path to master Reiki, I had many altruistic ideals in mind. I wanted to be a source of healing for friends, family AND the world.
Lately the subject of Reiki keeps coming up all around me. I am taking this as a hint that I am being pulled to work with Reiki more. I know there are those who could use my healing, and of course I could work on myself as well. What I really feel, however, is a pull to do distance healing. There seems to be quite a need for it all around me, and this will fit in nicely with my rededication to meditation each day. I have been taking 10 mins to meditate, and so I'll include distance reiki as well and see where it takes me!
Perhaps with this season of going within, it's the perfect time for a reconnection to that healing side of me!

ReplyDeleteI did see your recent offers of Reiki on my blog, and I will take you up on it. I'm Reiki II and was thinking that "I'm all set" because I can do my own and have family members who do it. But it sounds like your own Reiki energy would be a special gift. :)
