2nd Chakra - Lower Abdomin

Lower Abdomin Chakra

Located slightly above the genital area is the lower abdomin chakra. It is orange in color and mainly concerns with our creativity as well as sensuality and romantic emotions/drives.

The 2nd chakra is one that we THINK we have a handle on, but often we do not! We think that because we're feeling sexy that we must have a nice clear 2nd chakra.  The fact is, the free flow of sexual energy and the healthy exchange of physical intimacy are different than being "in the mood".  Also, if we are not being true to our creative dreams, then we also may cause a blockage in this chakra.

Besides meditating on the chakra to clear it out, the big issues behind your particular blockage (or need for cleansing and attention in this area) need to be addressed regularly.  Just as with any of the chakras, you cannot just put a bandaid on whatever problem is going on and expect the chakras (and hense your life) to be cleansed and ready to go.  It requires frequent "checking-in", as well as fully addressing whatever issues live in those chakras to get rid of those issues.

If there has been any sexual abuse or misuse, it will show up as a problem in this chakra.  If you have squashed your dreams and always put them on the back burner, it will show up in this chakra.

MEDITATION:

After you have grounded, sought protection, relaxed and opened up your red chakra and gotten it spinning, move up to the 2nd chakra.  Keep the red one spinning while you move up.  Envision a bright orange color glowing around the area of your sexual organs.  Spread the orange light out as you did with the red light - deep into the earth and out into the Universe.  Feel both the earth and the Universe exchanging its fresh orange energy while recycling your "old", clogged orange energy.

Take a few minutes to think about ways in which this chakra may have become blocked or clogged.  Has there been ways your sexuality has been compromised?  Do you feel unable to express yourself sexually or to fully engage your sensual side the way you'd like?  What about your creativity. Are there creative dreams you haven't listened to? Is there a creative project you've neglected or feel stumped about?

See these ideas and images inside the chakra and surround them with the orange light.  Spin that chakra as fast as you can!  Allow your inner wisdom, and the goddess (if you are working with her) to help you gently brainstorm about ways you can solve the issues at hand. 

If there are old issues of abuse, see them be healed and dissiapte into the orange light. Watch as they float out into the Universe.  Feel the replenishment of orange energy coming from the earth in return.

If there are creativity issues, feel whatever is blocking you or holding you back from expressing yourself creatively to let go and get out of your way.  Feel the courage to express yourself as you choose.  Let the orange light permeate through your entire body and fill you with ideas and energy to fulfil those ideas creatively.

When you are done, bring the orange light back inside yourself and return to the room as usual - after thanking the Universe, the goddess and the earth for their help.

Enjoy the rest of your day, knowing that whatever harmed you sexually in the past cannot harm you anymore, or that whatever has held you back in the past from your perfect expression of creativity will now be pushed aside as you step forward with new confidence and fresh inspiration!
