It's that time of year when Gathering Together trumps math worksheets, spelling lists and science lessons. In the spaces of time between my last post and this one, there have been plenty of the listed activities, but as we get nearer and nearer to Yule time, we've been immersing ourselves into as much Gathering Together as possible.
The above picture depicts a group of families who have gathered to sing holiday carols for a veteran's home. It was a lovely day, as we all drove from near and far to attend.
A sunrise on a frosty morning reminds us that getting up and out of the house can be both beautiful and chilly. How can we not savor such moments?
Gifts are being made or purchased and wrapped for friends and loved ones. Next week we will be participating in some cookie swapping. We can hardly wait!
A family trip to Vermont led to this gorgeous spot along Quechee Gorge.
Enjoying co-op classes that included getting ready for a holiday concert.
The holiday concert day finally arrives, and every voice was angelic!
Attending the city's annual tree lighting festival also included a fun horse-drawn wagon ride.

It has been a strange time of year. In between our "regular lesson work", and in between these exciting holiday activities, we've been in the process of purchasing another home and dealing with some extended-family drama.
Life is funny, isn't it? It is never safe from surprises, twists and turns. Still, we walk forward and embrace all of the wonders that come our way while trying to move through the more challenging bits.
I hope your December is going well
